Dr. Dina Barakat

Founder of the Clinic, Dina Barakat is a Doctor in Physical therapy. She is specialized in lymphedema therapy and cancer rehabilitation, in particular breast cancer rehab.

She graduated from the University of Saint Joseph (Lebanon) with a Bachelor degree in Physical therapy in 2005 and had her master degree in manual therapy and osteopathy in 2008.

She then received her lymphedema therapy certification in 2012 from Klose training and consulting (USA) and completed her Osteopathy Diploma in 2014.

She was certified in breast cancer rehabilitation in 2015 and received the degree of Doctor in Physical Therapy in 2016.
She has also received in 2019 her master degree in Public health – Politics and Health Management – from the University of Saint Joseph (Lebanon).

In May 2020, she accomplished the Level 4 in Cancer rehabilitation from CanRehab.

She is a LANA (Lymphology Association of North America) certified therapist since November 2020 and received additional lymphedema trainings in Foeldi Clinic (Germany) and Campisi Clinic (Italy).

In April 2023, she graduated from Oakland University in Michigan – USA with a certificate in Oncology Rehabilitation.

Last but not least, she is certified in perineal rehabilitation.
Dr. Barakat is a lecturer of the Breast cancer Rehabilitation course at the University of Saint Joseph (Lebanon) and a speaker in local and regional conferences about Breast Cancer Rehabilitation and lymphedema management.

In her rehabilitation practice, she combines her clinical experience with an academic and a public health approach.

Cynthia Touma

Physical Therapist

Ms. Touma holds a bachelor degree in Physical therapy from the University of Saint Joseph.

She has been trained to treat Lymphedema and lipedema patients.

Ms. Touma has also received a clinical training in cupping.

Nour Kardaly

Physical Therapist

Certified in breast cancer rehabilitation

 

Ms. Kardaly holds a bachelor degree in Physical therapy from the University of Saint Joseph.

She has been trained to treat Lymphedema and lipedema patients.

Ms. Kardaly is currently enrolled in the doctorate in physical therapy program at the University of Saint Joseph.

In march 2023, she obtained her certificate in breast cancer rehabilitation from Klose Training and consulting – USA.

Dr. Dominique Dano

PhD, MPH, LD

Clinical Dietician

Dr. Dano is a clinical dietitian with over 16 years of experience, treating clients with various chronic conditions (Obesity, Diabetes, Hyperlipidemia, PCOS, IBS, IBD, Cardiovascular diseases, Hypertension, etc). She also assists patients during their cancer journey from diagnosis to remission to complete recovery helping them reach their optimal nutrition and weight throughout different phases.

She holds a master’s degree in public health – Health education & promotion – allowing her to have a broader vision of different stakeholders in health. She uses this knowledge as a tool in guiding clients towards a sustainable healthy lifestyle.

She also holds a PhD in diet therapy for food allergies.

Last but not least, she is an assistant professor at a university where she teaches medical nutrition therapy courses.

Israa Madani

Administrative assistant 

Mrs. Madani has joined the clinic team in 2018 as an administrative assistant.

Mabelle-Marie Saliba

Former Physical Therapist at Dina Barakat Clinic

Certified Lymphedema Therapist and Doctor in Physical Therapy

Ms. Saliba holds a bachelor degree in physical therapy from the University of Saint Joseph in Beirut.

She received her doctorate in physical therapy in 2021 and is a certified lymphedema therapist from Klose training since April 2021.

In addition to the above, Ms. Saliba has attended several trainings and educational courses on Lipedema and pelvic floor rehab.

She joined the clinic between 2018 and 2022.

Layal Barakat

Certified in breast cancer rehabilitation

Ms. Barakat holds a bachelor degree in physical therapy from Saint Joseph University in Beirut. She also holds a university diploma in Acupuncture and has completed her trainings in China. She combines physical therapy and Chinese traditional medicine to provide the best treatment approach to patients.

Ms. Barakat has received her certificate in Breast cancer rehabilitation from Klose training in December 2020 and in lymphedema therapy in April 2021.

She joined the clinic team between 2017 and 2022.

Rachelle Daoud

Public health practitioner

Ms. Daoud holds a bachelor degree in Physical Therapy, has received in April 2017 her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Saint Joseph and has received in 2019 her master degree in public health (Environment and health).

Ms. Daoud joined the clinic team between 2014 and 2017.
